Kelly Pulaski
U19 Coach

Kelly is a Rising Sun High School (RSHS) alumni and a Rising Sun Area Field Hockey Club (RSAFHC) alumni.  As you know, RSAFHC is the precursor to Sun Field Hockey (SFH).  This is Kelly’s third year coaching for SFH and her 12th year coaching.  She has experience coaching indoor, high school, rec teams from ages K to 12th grade.  She coached an undefeated high school team and an indoor team that qualified for NIT.
As a high school player, Coach Kelly was a member of the RSHS State Championship team in 2006 and 2007.  She was a member of the RSHS State-Semi Finalist team in 2005.  She was selected for the All-Cecil County teams and All-Maryland State teams as well.  After high school Kelly played field hockey at the collegiate level at Appalachian State University on a full athletic scholarship.
Coach Kelly’s passion for field hockey began as a player.  Through the years her desire to share the love of the game with others and to help young athletes develop their skills and confidence both on and off the field has become a cornerstone to her coaching philosophy.  Coaching allows her to inspire the next generation of field hockey stars and gives her the opportunity to pick up a stick still and play also.  Coach Kelly sums up her coaching philosophy this way, “My coaching philosophy centers on fostering a positive, inclusive environment where athletes can grow both individually and as a team. I believe in balancing skill development with a love for the game, encouraging players to challenge themselves while having fun.”
When Coach Kelly is not coaching, enjoys hanging out with her son, Camden and two dogs, and doing puzzles and decorating cakes.  We are thankful to have Coach Kelly as a member of our coaching staff!

Charis Miani
U8 Coach

Charis Miani is one of the newest additions to our coaching staff.  She has coached rec field hockey and is now coaching at the travel team level for Sun Field Hockey.  Charis is approaching her second year coaching field hockey.
As a high school player at Souderton Area High School in Pennsylvania, Coach Charis was a member of the field hockey team as well as the track and field and lacrosse teams!  We love to see multi-sport athletes! After high school, Coach Charis played field hockey at the collegiate level at Shippensburg University.  She was a four-year starter on defense and she received a B.S. in Biology.
The coach that inspired Coach Charis was her 9th grade field hockey coach.  Though Coach Charis’ skills were not impressive as a freshman, her coach saw her potential and gave her a chance.  This belief led Coach Charis to have the ability and skill to become a collegiate field hockey player!  This experience also led Coach Charis to adopt this coaching philosophy, “Work your hardest even when no one is looking. That drive and determination will get you far and make you into a superior athlete.”
When Coach Charis is not coaching, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children and also lifting weights, bakino0g, reading and gardening.  We are thankful to have Coach Charis as a member of our coaching staff!
